This covered bridge, built in 1940 by Romain Caron one of the early settlers in the village of Saint Jean de la Londe, Quebec to replace the Jerry Company bridge which had become decrepit. No special tools were required to erect the bridge, it called for the same carpentry skills as needed to put up a house or farm building. The Romain Caron bridge was in use from 1940-1979, the year the roof collapsed under the weight of snow.
