Immature Cattle Egret
This was the find of a lifetime for me. Hubby was driving and suddenly pulled over to turn around and go back about half a mile because he thought he saw a big white bird sitting in a tree near a farmyard. He was right. We have eliminated all the other kinds that it may be, such as White Heron, White Egret, etc and came up with the conclusion that it’s a Cattle Egret, a bit smaller than the others. It’s a bit blurry, the best I could do with cars zooming by me every few seconds and hand held with the big guy!
Photographed in a farmyard near Dugald, Manitoba.
